Corporal Michelle Moore began her law enforcement career in 1997 with the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office. Corporal Moore has served in many capacities throughout the years including the Jail, Training, Court Services, Patrol, and School Resource Officer. In 2009 Officer Moore began her employment with the Villa Rica Police Department where she has served as the School Resource Officer at Villa Rica High School for the last six years. Corporal Moore’s certifications include Basic Law Enforcement, Basic Jail Officer and Field Training Officer. Corporal Moore also serves as the Advisor to the Villa Rica Police Explorer POST 314, a program devoted to teaching youth ages 14-20 about the law enforcement career field. In additional to the Explorer POST, Corporal Moore plans and organizes the Chief’s annual Youth Police Academy held in the summer at the V-Plex. The Youth Police Academy is a four day program dedicated to teaching 5th -8th grade students various topics including internet safety and bullying. Officer Lewis is currently the school resource officer for Villa Rica Elementary School. He proudly served in the US Air Force from 1995-2005 where he worked as a patrol officer, accident investigator, and in the criminal investigations division. Officer Lewis has over 11 years experience as a patrol officer in the state of Georgia. He joined the Villa Rica Police Department in 2013 in which he was assigned to the Special Operations Unit as a School Resource Officer. Officer Chris Rowan has worked for the Villa Rica Police Department since July 2013. Officer Rowan was previously in the United States Navy for 20 years, he retired in 2013. He is currently the School Resource Officer (SRO) at Glanton-Hindsman Elementary School and assists helping with the school’s safety patrol. Officer Rowan is a National Child Passenger Safety Certified Technician, which ensures the proper use of car seats, booster seats, and seat belts. Officer Rowan is involved with the Villa Rica Police Explorers POST 314 and enjoys training the youth on law enforcement activities.
