Traffic Division
Sgt EthredgeSergeant Hunter Ethredge is a Carroll County native, and has spent his entire law enforcement career with the Villa Rica Police Department.  Before joining the department, Sergeant Ethredge obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminology from the University of West Georgia.  During his time with the department, he has served in various roles including patrolman, corporal, shift sergeant, and detective.  Sergeant Ethredge has attended a wide array of law enforcement training during his career, but some of his certifications include CVSA Examiner, Instructor, and Supervision. Currently, he is serving as the Traffic Unit sergeant. 

The traffic unit is responsible for vehicle accident investigations, traffic enforcement duties, special events, school safety, municipal court, and various community programs.  They also work closely with the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety assisting in both state and regional traffic enforcement efforts.  Other members of the Traffic Unit include traffic officers, the police K9/handler, bicycle patrol, and school resource officers. Sergeant Ethredge may be reached by phone at 678-840-1322 or by email at hethredge@villarica.org
