May 27, 2009 Opening Ceremonies from the Special Olympics Summer Games. Chief Mansour carried the torch along with Special Olympic Athlete Drew Waters. We carried the torch into the games because the Villa Rica Police Dept. raised the 5th most money for Special Olympics Ga. in 2008. We raised over $24,000. 'This was a great honor and something that I will tell my grandkids one day.' Chief says.
"Nitro" (K-9 dog) was purchased for the City of Villa Rica Police Dept. by Sheriff Terry Langley with seized drug funds. Nitro is a multi-use K-9 and can be used as a drug dog and a patrol dog. Also pictured are K-9 handler Chris Williams and Chief Michael Mansour.
