If you are interested in employment with the Villa Rica Police Department, you must complete our application process. The application process consists of several phases after the actual application is completed. Our department accepts applications on Mon-Thurs. between the hours of 8:30-3:00 pm.

Phase I. Criminal/Driver History: If your criminal/driver history meet the requirements set by the state and our department, you will be notified as to the date and time of the next phase.
Phase II. Oral Interview: You will be asked a series of questions by the VRPD advisory board which consists of veteran officers and staff.
Phase III. Background Investigation: A complete background will be conducted on all applicants. This investigation will consist of interviews of your neighbors, previous employers, references, family and even former teachers.
Phase IV. Physical Agility Test: This test consists of 1.5 mile run, push ups, sit ups, and the ability to carry a person a certain distance.
Phase V. Examination for Police Academy: This is only required for non-certified applicants. This test is given at the academy in Austell and is required by Ga. Peace Officers Standards and Training Council (POST).
Phase VI. Polygraph/Computer Voice Stress Analysis: All applicants will be required to take a polygraph or computer voice stress analysis by personnel of our choosing.
Phase VII. Interview with the Chief of Police and Command Staff: Applicants will be interviewed in the Police Chief's office along with command staff. A conditional job offer can be made at this time contingent upon successful completion of phases 8 and 9.
Phase VIII. Physical/Drug Screen: A complete physical and drug screen will be conducted by medical personnel at the expense of the VRPD.
Phase IX. Psychological Exam: Each applicant must complete a psychological exam at the expense of the VRPD.
